Two passenger trains collided Monday June 29) in an accident that killed three people and injured an additional 60 as train cars were derailed and nearby houses knocked over.

Concerned onlookers could be seen attempting to find survivors at the railway station in Chenzhou in south China’s Hunan province.

The accident happened at 2:34 am. Questions surrounding the cause of the fatal accident remain unanswered. The Ministry of Railways has launched an investigation.
