Former Rajmata (queen) of Jaipur, Gayatri Devi, once known as the one of the World’s most beautiful women according to Vogue magazine, died on Wednesday (July 28).

The 90-year-old was suffering from a chest infection for the past two weeks.

She was cremated on Thursday with State honours in the presence of mourners, who included her former subjects in the erstwhile Jaipur State, her sardars in crisp white turbans, and members of the ruling families of the former Rajputana.
