Fueled on adrenaline and a cocktail of drugs, a suicidal father dangles his young daughter from an 8th floor window.
The two-year-old little girl was saved from a fatal outcome when fireman Chen Long crept along a ledge and grabbed her. He then pushed suicidal dad Hu Binjun back into the flat as he attempted to leap from the window.
The 34-year-old unemployed father spent over three hours dangling his daughter from the window in the central Chinese city of Chengdu following a fight with his wife.
After a number of failed attempts to negotiate, Chen quietly crept along the ledge and seized the child while firemen distracted him down below.
Hu was later arrested and tested positive for drugs. His daughter suffered minor bruises but was otherwise unhurt.

The text of this story makes it sound like the fireman, Chen, was ‘arrested and tested positive for drugs’ and that his fellow firefighters ‘distracted him from below’ as he crept along the ledge.
Joan, it says “Hu was later arrested and tested positive for drugs.” Not “He.”

Yes, but that still doesn’t explain the firefighters ‘distracting him down below’ or were they distracting Hum??
They distracted the crazed dad from the ground while the fireman sneaked in a grabbed the kid.
Where was the mother during all that?
