At first sight these stunning pictures appear to show soldiers in the army getting out of the trenches. But in reality it’s all yummy cakes and gooey puddings imaginatively transformed into a variety of landscapes by food artists Akiki Ida, 37, and Pierre Javelle, 39.
Devoting hundreds of hours to tricking onlookers since 2002, the photography duo from Paris, France, created their mesmerising ‘minimiam’ series working from a Parisian home studio.
In an effort to catch out lazy-eyed observers, the pair included tiny models to make their scrumptious settings even more convincing.
The couple are preparing for a new series of exhibitions in France in coming months.
