RELIGION RULES IN AMERICAN THEATERS

A British producer who created a film about Charles Darwin says he’s been unable to secure an American distributor because the evolution theory is too controversial for U.S. audiences.

Creation stars stars Paul Bettany and Oscar-winner Jennifer Connelly and it opened the Toronto International Film Festival last week.

While almost every other country in the world has picked up the flick, it seems producer Jeremy Thomas says he finds it “unbelievable” that it remains D.O.A. in the American market.

‘It’s quite difficult for we in the U.K. to imagine religion in America,” he tells Britain’s Daily Mail. “We live in a country which is no longer so religious. But in the U.S., outside of New York and LA, religion rules.”
