USE OF AVERAGE-SIZED WOMEN DURING LONDON FASHION WEEK CAUSES UPROAR

A stylist and casting director were prompted to storm out after a decision to use some average-sized models during London Fashion Week.

Amanda May, managing director for Canadian designer Mark Fast, says there were “creative differences with regards to the casting of those girls.”

In an attempt to break with fashion convention, Fast put three size 12 to 14 models on the catwalk during the weekend.

“There was a team change and we’re glad we stuck to our vision,” he said.

Added May: “We wanted women to know they don’t have to be a size zero to wear a Mark Fast dress — curvier women can look even better in one.”

Rawk on that there are those who have sense to live in reality and allow that to be shown. Stupid that there are those that can’t break out of the box and see the overall benefit in diversity.
