Laura died Sunday. Joseph died Tuesday. Both were 86. The pair met during World War II and married in 1947.
“They have been inseparable for that entire time,” their daughter Donna Presutto tells The Cincinnati Enquirer.
“It was definitely a love story,” says Brenda Orlando, their nurse at Mercy Franciscan at West Park, the nursing home where the couple died.
Presutto says her mother’s health rapidly declined in April and ebbed and waned for months.
She said: “We just got the feeling that she was hanging on for some reason.”

That’s sweet. My grandma just went into a nursing home and my grandfather didn’t go. After 70yrs of marriage. My mom always said he was an asshole, I guess so. My children don’t understand how their grandpa would let their grandma go. Some people are just stubborn and selfish till the day they die!
And she went into an assitied liv facility which is nicer. This couple were down in the trenches in a nursing home which is worse right? Anyway I hope my husband ends up like this guy and not my grandfather.
