PLASTIC ROADS FIND USEFUL PURPOSE FOR WASTE PLASTIC

In Bangalore, India on Wednesday (December 2) roads could be seen getting laid using waste plastic.

Two Indian brothers making roads out of recycled plastic claim they have found a way to reduce greenhouse gas emissions with a surface that is more durable than tarmac.

Over 140 km along 41 roads in Bangalore will be upgraded at a cost of $16.8 million under the Karnataka Municipal Reforms Project this year.

The civic body, Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) has used plastic waste to asphalt over 300 km of road so far and plans to use polyblend for upgrading over 40% of roads in the city to be taken up under the assisatance of World Bank this year.
