A Chinese zoo has held a performance where a sport-loving monkey plays basketball in front of hundreds of fans.

Nanning Zoo in Guangxi province said the monkey “Ji Ling” (cute one) is so smart that he learned to play basketball himself.

“Outside the monkey cage is a basketball court for our staff and over time Ji Ling learnt all the skills by simply watching people playing,” said the spokesman of the zoo. “We found his talent once a ball dropped into his fence and he started playing it like a human being.”

On February 16, the zoo hosted a show for Ji Ning to show off his skills. The show was a great success and there should be more of them in the future.
