DACHSHUND U.N.

Dachshund U.N. is a piece of art featuring 47 specially recruited dachshunds sitting in a scale replica of a former U.N. office in Geneva.

The piece, which has been constructed by Australian artist Bennett Miller, includes the ‘sausage dogs’ who will engage in rigorous debate to simulate 47 of the national delegates at meeting of the U.N.’s Commission on Human Rights that examines the role of the United Nations as a risk management organization.

Dachshund U.N. is both a joyful and chaotic experiment, and a meditation on the utopian aspirations of the Commission on Human Rights, and our capacity as humans to imagine and achieve a universal system of justice.
